Seiko 5 “Red Line Sport” — 7009 Screw-Bezel Automatic Watch.
Not the quiet one in the tray. The one that stares back.
A faceted steel bezel pinned by four cross-head screws frames a bright silver dial cut with concentric rings — and slicing across all of it, a single red sweep seconds hand that never stops moving. Gold baton markers, applied Seiko 5 shield, framed day-date at 3. This is Seiko in its sportiest, most unapologetic late-’70s mood: part dress watch, part cockpit instrument, all attitude.
Under the caseback runs the Seiko 7009 automatic — self-winding, day-date, English calendar — one of the most repairable, longest-surviving movements Japan ever shipped. This one has been opened, serviced, and held to the timegrapher until the rate settled.
A note, because we don’t hide anything: the dial is printed “21 Jewels.” We list this watch on its looks and its serviced, verified movement — not on a number stamped in gold. What you’re buying is a fully-working vintage automatic with a face that turns heads and a shop that stands behind it.
