This isn’t a flat silver dial. Look closer — the surface is cut into radiating wedges that fan out from the centre like a hand fan opening, each facet catching light at a different angle. Turn your wrist and the pattern moves with you: one wedge goes bright silver, the next drops to soft grey, then they swap. It’s the kind of dial finishing Seiko put on watches that cost several times this.

Gold applied markers sit on top, each one a small polished block. Gold dauphine hands. And at 3 o’clock, the day-date frame in gold — with SUN printed in red, that small piece of vintage Seiko theatre that only shows up once a week.

Inside: the 7S36 — Seiko’s 23-jewel automatic, two jewels up on the 7S26 that powers most Seiko 5s. Same bulletproof architecture, better bearing count. No battery. No winding. It runs off your movement and nothing else.

Case is confirmed stainless steel, made in Japan, with sharp faceted lugs and a mirror-polished bezel that frames the dial tight.
