You don’t find olive dials. You wait for them.

Seiko made black. Seiko made silver. Seiko made blue by the thousand. Olive was the one that only appeared in certain years, in certain references, and almost none of them survived the decades looking like this — a soft military green with a sunburst underneath, going from sage in daylight to deep moss in shadow. It’s the colour that makes people ask what you’re wearing, even when they know nothing about watches.

Underneath it: the Seiko 7019. Japanese automatic, day-date, no battery in its entire life. It winds off the swing of your wrist and keeps running as long as you keep moving. Stop wearing it, and it sleeps until you pick it back up.

Made in Japan, July 1979. That’s not “vintage” as a marketing word. That’s a specific month, in a specific factory, forty-seven years ago — and it’s still telling time on a wrist in Dhaka today. It came onto our bench, got opened, cleaned, oiled, and put on the timegrapher before it earned a place in this collection.

38mm — the classic 1970s cushion-round case. Big enough to read across a room, slim enough to disappear under a cuff.

Honest condition note: this dial has lived. There’s light age around the outer edge and faint patina on the indices. We could have hidden it in the photos. We didn’t — because on a green dial from 1979, that patina is the watch. If you want factory-fresh, buy new. If you want a piece with forty-seven years behind it, this is exactly what that looks like.
