Vintage Seiko 5 Automatic — Black Textured Dial, Gold-Tone Bezel | Ref. 7009-6031 | 38mm.
Two-tone, 1980s, and completely unapologetic about it.
The dial is where this one earns its money. A black field worked in two textures — a fine wave-engraved centre disc that ripples when the light moves across it, ringed by a flat matte outer track carrying the full 60-minute numerals in white. Most Seiko 5 dials give you one surface. This gives you two, and the line where they meet catches light like a shoulder.
Lumed applied indices sit around the edge. The gold applied "5" at twelve. Day and date framed at three with the red SUN wheel. And the gold-tone bezel — faceted with recessed notches at every hour position, the kind of design detail Seiko stopped bothering with decades ago.
Inside is the calibre 7009 — 17 jewels, fully automatic, hacking seconds. The predecessor to the 7S26 and one of the most serviceable, longest-living movements Seiko ever built. No battery. No charging. It runs on the swing of your arm, and it has been doing that since the 1980s.
Fully serviced. Timegrapher-verified. 20+ hour power reserve.
