But the dial is the reason it stops you — vertical pinstripes in shifting blues, light and dark bands running top to bottom like a tailored suit, with a fine gold border around the edge. Gold roman numerals, gold hands, day-date at three. It reads dressy, deliberate, and unlike anything modern.
