Seiko 5 Automatic — Railway Grey Dial Watch, 36mm | Ref 6309-8920
Compact, dark, and running the collector’s caliber — this one’s a quiet favorite.
The dial’s a deep charcoal-black with a full 13-to-24 railway hour track around the outer edge — the station-clock layout built so nobody misread a train time. Applied markers with cream lume, blue outer minute numerals, day-date at three. It reads sharp and technical, more interesting than a plain black dial and softer on the wrist than a harsh one.
And it’s on the 6309 — the caliber Seiko put in the original Turtle divers, a genuinely respected workhorse. Finding it under a compact railway dress dial is exactly the kind of thing a collector clocks.
At 36mm this is one of the smaller cases in the collection — a neat vintage-proportion fit for a slimmer wrist. No battery: winds off your wrist, 20-hour-plus reserve. Stainless steel on the bracelet. Timegrapher-checked before it reached you, not sold on a promise.
We don’t sell “runs fine.” We service it, test it, and stand behind it.
